Privacy Policy
Effective Date: March 1, 2026
Last Updated: April 2026
1. Introduction
SimpleUtils ("we," "our," or "us") operates the website simpleutils.org. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you visit our site and use our tools.
SimpleUtils is a collection of free, browser-based utility tools. Our core principle is that your data stays on your device. All file processing, text manipulation, and data transformations happen entirely within your web browser — nothing is uploaded to our servers.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
To be clear about what we do not do:
- ❌ We do not collect, store, or process any files you use with our tools
- ❌ We do not require user accounts, registration, or login
- ❌ We do not collect names, email addresses, or personal identifiers through our tools
- ❌ We do not upload your files, images, text, or data to any server
- ❌ We do not use cookies for tracking or behavioral profiling
- ❌ We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties
All tool processing happens client-side using JavaScript and browser APIs. Your data remains in your browser's memory and is discarded when you close the tab or navigate away.
3. Information Automatically Collected
Like virtually all websites, certain information is automatically transmitted when you visit simpleutils.org:
Web Analytics via Cloudflare: Our site is served through Cloudflare, which provides basic, privacy-focused web analytics. This includes aggregated data such as page views, referring URLs, country-level geographic data, browser type, and device type. Cloudflare Analytics does not use client-side tracking, does not set cookies, and does not collect personally identifiable information. For more information, see Cloudflare's Web Analytics documentation.
Server Logs: Standard web server logs may temporarily record IP addresses, request timestamps, and pages visited. These logs are used solely for security monitoring and debugging, are not associated with individual users, and are automatically purged on a rolling basis.
4. Cookies
SimpleUtils itself does not set any first-party cookies. However, third-party services integrated into our site may set cookies:
Google AdSense: We display non-personalized advertisements through Google AdSense. Google may set cookies for frequency capping (limiting how often you see the same ad) and fraud prevention. These cookies are not used for behavioral targeting or to build advertising profiles. For details, see Google's advertising policies.
You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings. Blocking cookies will not affect the functionality of any SimpleUtils tools.
5. Third-Party Services and CDNs
To provide our tools, we load resources from the following third-party content delivery networks (CDNs):
- Tailwind CSS (cdn.tailwindcss.com) — CSS framework for page styling
- jsDelivr (cdn.jsdelivr.net) — JavaScript libraries for specific tool functionality
- cdnjs / Cloudflare CDN (cdnjs.cloudflare.com) — Additional JavaScript libraries
- unpkg (unpkg.com) — JavaScript package delivery
- Hugging Face (huggingface.co) — AI model files for browser-based AI tools
These CDNs serve static files (JavaScript, CSS, model weights) directly to your browser. They may log standard access information (IP addresses, request headers) according to their own privacy policies. We do not control or have access to any data these CDNs may collect.
6. Data Storage and Security
Since our tools process data entirely in your browser, we have no user data to store or secure on our end. Some tools may use your browser's local storage or session storage to save preferences (such as settings you've configured). This data is stored locally on your device, is never transmitted to us, and can be cleared through your browser settings at any time.
Our website is served over HTTPS, ensuring that all communication between your browser and our servers is encrypted in transit.
7. Children's Privacy
SimpleUtils does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). Since we do not collect personal information from any users, this applies universally. If you believe a child has somehow provided personal information to us, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.
8. Your Rights Under GDPR (European Users)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, and the right to restrict or object to processing.
Because SimpleUtils does not collect or store personal data through its tools, these rights are effectively satisfied by design. If you have questions or wish to exercise any rights regarding data that may be collected by third-party services (such as Cloudflare or Google AdSense), we recommend contacting those providers directly. You may also contact us with any questions.
9. Your Rights Under CCPA (California Residents)
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, request deletion, and opt out of the sale of personal information.
SimpleUtils does not sell personal information. We do not collect personal information through our tools. The limited data collected via analytics and advertising is described above and does not constitute a "sale" under the CCPA.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of simpleutils.org after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
